Underwood Melvin (Mel) Ray Underwood, 87, longtime Seminole/Shawnee resident, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 at OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City. The only son of Nancy Edna (Mills) and Clarence Ray Underwood, he was born June 3, 1939, in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Limes Paula Goss Limes was born in Maud, Oklahoma on October 13, 1931 and died August 5, 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband Barney Joe Limes MD, their oldest son, David Cameron Limes and her parents, Mack and Faye Goss.

Jay Konawa resident Burl Dean Jay, 84, passed away at his home on Monday, August 3, 2026. Burl was born on April 4, 1942, in Lamar to Tom and Lela (Maroon) Jay. On October 22, 1962, he married Faye Elliot in Holdenville.

Medcalf Reggie Edward Medcalf, age 78, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at his home in Ada, OK with his wife by his side. The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.

Douglas Booket Douglas, age 92, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away on August 3, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1933, in Konawa, Oklahoma, to Willie and Mary Douglas. Booket married the love of his life, Erma (Boyd) Douglas, on December 31, 1956, in Chandler, Oklahoma.

Douthit Seminole resident LaDawn Rene Douthit, 56, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Rene was born on September 28, 1969, in Seminole to Harlin Carey and Shirley (Marquis) Nunnelley.

Estep-Roark Jera Elaine Estep-Roark passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 91.She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Lee James Estep; and daughter, Cheryl Estep.

Judith Ann Carter, 79, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 25, 1946, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Judy was the daughter of Minnie Oneta Hendricks and Earl Raymond Hendricks.

Richard Emit Smart passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 in Wewoka, Oklahoma at the age of 74. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David Smart.
