When your plant list is longer than the available gardening space it is time to expand your planting options. Create new gardening space by adding raised bed gardens, elevated planters, and containers wherever space allows. Convert the end of the drive or edge of the patio into raised bed gardens.

Create a compost pile. Composting is an ecofriendly way to enrich lawns and gardens. Composting helps to conserve water because compost promotes moisture retention in soil, reducing homeowners’ need to water their lawns and gardens while also helping them to save money on their water bills.

The Seminole City Council has taken an official stance of opposition to a proposed quarter-cent hike in the county sales tax rate. Voters will face the tax proposal, which was drafted by the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, in a special election next month.

Corporal Anthony Louie of the Seminole Police Department was presented with a Medal of Honor Tuesday evening by Tecumseh Police Chief J.R. Kidney. Louie received the medal for rescuing his two sons from a house fire in November while he was on duty.

Seminole State College will be releasing a second round of money from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) to assist students enrolled in the spring semester. The funds are provided by the U.S.

Business owners in Seminole’s downtown district are invited to a townhall-style meeting tomorrow morning to ask questions and share their concerns with city officials. “Let’s Talk About Downtown” is scheduled for Friday, March 12 at 9 a.m. at the Seminole Public Library.

In August of 2020, fate brought Sophie Augustin from Munich, Germany to the rural town of Seminole, Oklahoma. Destiny began to unfold quickly for Augustin after her school advisor reached out to SSC Women’s Head Soccer Coach Daniel Hill in March of 2020.
