According to Seminole Police Chief Jon Withers, police worked a kidnapping case Tuesday afternoon then responded to a separate shooting incident late Tuesday night. The shooting suspect is in custody and the victim is in stable condition.

Progress continues to be made on the sidewalk project in Seminole. When complete, Broadway will have sidewalks from Jefferson to Eighth Street. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation began the project in mid-March. This is the second and final phase of the Broadway renovation project.

Regents Ratify SSC Emergency Declaration in Special Meeting

The Seminole State College Board of Regents held a special meeting on April 6 to ratify a Declaration of a State of Emergency as a result of damage caused by winter storms in February. Formal support of the declaration by the Board was requested to proceed with repair projects across campus.

Man, Woman With Local Ties Murdered in Del City

Two people with local ties were shot to death in Del City over the weekend. Wewoka native Lakota Leetka, 27, and Aussie Paschal, 42, who grew up in Holdenville, were the victims of an alleged murder that occurred Saturday night.
