Virgil Wood

Wood Shawnee, OK resident, Virgil Phillip Wood, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Oklahoma City at the age of 91.

Virgil is survived by his son, Phillip (Iky) Wood of Shawnee, OK; sister, Barbara Washington of Seminole, OK; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Wood; sons, Wade Wood and Phillip “Dumpling” Wood; daughters, Donna “Tubby” Mason and Jathanna “Tinnie” Wood.

Viewing will be held Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, February 2, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

A wake will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
