Well known rancher and Wewoka Trading Post owner Zane Alfred Smith age 93 departed this life at his home Thursday March 4, 2021. He was born July 14, 1927 in Wewoka to the late Alfred Smith and Leona Price Smith.

Zane loved Wewoka and shared his life with Jim Chadick as a rancher and restaurant owner. He loved running the Wewoka Trading Post and greeting everyone with a big smile. Zane was instrumental in getting the train depot The Wewoka Switch returned to the town. He was a member of Oklahoma and Texas cattleman’s Association.

Preceding Zane in death are his parents, brother, Jake Smith and sister Billie Smith Garvenhire and his long time partner, Jim Chadick.

Survivors include sister, Bonnie Smith, nephew’s, Bob Chadick and wife Teri of McLoud, Tom Chadick of Wewoka, niece, Janone Garvenhire McCoy of Norman and a host of relatives and friends.

Zane Smithg will be Monday March 8, 2021 at Stout-Phillips Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m..

Honorary pall bearers will be Max Smith and Gary Thomas.

Pall bearers will be Kent Raulston, Tom Chadick, Bob Chadick, Brady Chadick, Charles Chadick and Ronnie Hollie.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Ruby Nail York officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
