Seminole resident Harrel Thoma, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in Seminole.

Harrel, the son of John and Mary (Hyatt) Thoma, was born November 18, 1934, in Seminole. Harrel graduated from Prague High School. On March 17, 1956, he married Rose Mary “Rosie” Robbins, at the Prague First Assembly of God Church. Harrel and Rosie were married 55 years, prior to he passing on December 16, 2011. Harrel loved to work; when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning and making pickles. He was also a longtime member of Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie; his parents, John and Mary Thoma; a daughter, Deborah Rose Thoma; brothers and sisters, Sylvester, Jimmy, Raymond, Norma Scott, Mary Aline Robbins, and Baby Thoma.

Harrel is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Belinda Thoma of Elgin, and Steven “Yote” and Janice Thoma of Ada; daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Rickey Gist of Seminole; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Stacy Gist, Brandy McMillan, Amberly Warren, Brittany Thoma, Jenifer Thoma, Travin Thoma, Kytelyn Thoma, Danny Gist, Josh Thoma, Chris Warren, Steven Thoma, Matt Thoma, Hunter Thoma, Randy Gist, Mike McMillan, Caleb Warren, Gunner Thoma, Mikey McMillan, Dillon Thoma, Dathan Thomas, Autumn Rossman, Kymber Rossman, Kamden Rossman, Dawson Thomas, Aubrey Warren, Keller Wells, Brooklyn Thoma, Madelyn Rose Thoma, Ashlynn Thoma, Blakely Rose McMillan, and Mikey Gist; along with many other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Harrel’s grandsons and great grandsons.

Services will be Monday, March 20, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
