A musical event that has been part of Seminole County’s DNA for more than five decades is poised to return next week.

The 52 ^nd Annual Seminole Gospel Sing is scheduled for August 12-14 beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. The event will be held at the Seminole Music Park, located at 12513 Highway 99, just south of the city.

Thursday’s lineup includes Jeff and Sheri Easter, the Lefevre Quartet, 11 ^th Hour and the Chuckwagon Gang. On Friday, Karen Peck & New River, the Bowling Family, the Lefevre Quartet and the Detty Sisters will take the stage. Saturday’s finale includes the Kingsmen Quartet, Gold City, the Detty Sisters and the Williamsons. For the early birds, a free concert/open mic night will be offered on Tuesday, Aug. 10 and Wednesday, August 11.

The event began in 1970 and was staged in the Seminole Municipal Park and moved to its present location in 1998.

This year’s sing is presented by the Gospel Station Network and the Seminole Singing Association.
