Chamber Forum to Feature Oklahoma Policy Institute
The Oklahoma Policy Institute will be the topic of discussion at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum this Thursday, August 12. The luncheon meeting will be held at noon at Seminole State College in the Utterback Ballroom of the Enoch Kelly Haney Center.
Executive Director of the Oklahoma Policy Institute (OK Policy) Ahniwake Rose will introduced by Chamber Forum Co-Chair Melvin Moran. OK Policy is an independent nonprofit organization which works to advance equitable and fiscally responsible policies that lead to expanded opportunity for all Oklahomans. These opportunities are made possible through non-partisan research, analysis, and advocacy.
Executive Director Rose brings 19 years of experience in public policy and nonprofits to her role leading the organization.
Prior to her joining OK Policy, Rose served as the Deputy Director of the National Congress of American Indians — a national organization that serves the broad interests of tribal governments and communities. While there, she worked with a broad coalition of civil and human rights organizations to address economic inequality and racial injustice.
A Native to Oklahoma, Rose serves on several education and youth related boards and is a Rockwood Leadership Institute “Leading from the Inside Out Fellow,” Class of 2017. She is a mother of two daughters, Waleah and Tahna and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She is also of Muscogee (Creek) descent.
