A woman, reportedly an expectant mother, was transported to the hospital after a collision involving two vehicles on Wrangler Boulevard Wednesday morning. The accident occurred mid-morning just across from the Seminole Hospital. Additional details were unavailable at press time.

A Writer Among us

One of Seminole’s own has been selected to be published in The New York Times. A piece written by Gracie Kuehner, an eighth grader at Seminole Middle School, will be featured in The New York Times for Kids, which is a special section of the paper reserved for readers between 8 to 14 years of age.

September Proclaimed Nat’l Recovery Month By Mayor of Seminole

The month of September has been proclaimed as National Recovery Month in the City of Seminole. The mayoral proclamation was made by Ward One City Councilman and Vice Mayor Larry Church on behalf of Mayor Jeff Griffin at Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Seminole City Council.

Oil, Gas Drilling Activity Picks up

Oil and gas drilling activity is beginning to pick up across Oklahoma as the industry continues to expand after a retreat brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. According to OK Energy Today, regulators have recently approved several new permits to drill, including one in Seminole County.

No Postage Increase in January; Twice–yearly Hikes Are on Deck

The U.S. Postal Service announced yesterday it will not implement a postage increase in January 2022. The next increase will be in July 2022. Then it will begin a new regime of twice-yearly increases, beginning in 2023. The new pricing plans depend upon the approval by the U.S.

Murdock to File Legislation After Ag Sales Tax Exemption Study

On the heels of an interim study dedicated to examining Oklahoma’s agricultural sales tax exemption, Sen. Casey Murdock said he’s preparing to file a measure ahead of the next legislative session to make it easier for farmers and ranchers to renew their sales tax exemption card.

Women On Mission met last week at the Wewoka First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Patti Prater read the prayer. The phrase “What would Jesus Do?” gained a book titled “In his Steps, What would Jesus do” by Charlies Sheldon, published in the late 1800’s.
