Varnum will meet Asher in a playoff at 8 p.m. Friday in Asher gym… the game is the two-county playoff… Mrs. Jack Reynolds making an excellent club report… Terry Kelley performing an errand for a friend… The R. L. Dickersons sharing their okra with neighbors… Carmine Beckwith telling about a funny incident that her husband, Roy, carried out… Homer Swafford carrying out a promise… Okmulgee county singers to meet in convention Sunday, 2 p.m. at Bryant community church southwest of Henryetta… And they’re inviting Seminole folk… Two-year-old Jeffrey Dyer accompanying his mother on an errand…

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bemo of Konawa are extending an invitation for all residents of Seminole and the surrounding area to attend a dance at Seminole Municipal auditorium Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bemo will be host at the affair honoring their daughter, Miss Roxie Bemo, retiring Princess of the Seminole Indian Nation of Oklahoma.

Supper will be served at 6 p.m. and dancing will begin at 7:30 p.m. The event is Plains Indian tradition, a way to show love and pride in someone.

Head man dancer will be Bernard Karahrah of Del City; and head lady dancer, Shala Rollen.

Head singer will be Mr. Harrison Hunter. Mr. Joe Toaty of Midwest City will be master of ceremonies. He emceed the recent Miss Indian America pageant held at Sheridan, Wyoming.

Colorful costumes and dancing will highlight the evening’s activities.

Seminole’s tackle David “Moose” Lawyer, will be back in action this week and will be starting on defense against Pauls Valley Friday night if all goes as planned between now and that time Coach Jim Webb said Wednesday.

Lawyer has been sidelined since the Chandler scrimmage, a period of about three weeks. He broke his right hand in warmups before the scrimmage and has been wearing a cast since.

Coach Webb said that today (Thursday) the doctors are supposed to remove Lawyer’s cast and let him return to practice. Lawyer has been running daily keeping in shape, however, he hasn’t been hitting.
