Read moreAn informal ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new Seminole Junior College student union – cafetorium building was held this morning on the college campus. Taking part in the ground-breaking were Bob Jones, Chamber of Commerce manager; David Herrin, SJC Student Senate President; Fred Adwan, President of the SJC Board of Trustees; and Waldo Lilly, Mayor of Seminole. Construction of the new building is expected to be completed for use in the fall semester or shortly thereafter.

The Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma will perform in concert Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m. at Oklahoma Baptist University in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium. The concert is the finale performance of the group’s 60th anniversary celebration and is hosted by the OBU Division of Music. The public and the entire campus community are invited to attend the free event.

Dr. Jerry Griffin, Tulsa School Board Member – District 6, announced he will be a candidate for the position of Superintendent of Education for the State of Oklahoma. It is a reversal of his February 28 announcement in which he said he would no longer be a candidate.
Read moreEarlier this week, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma ruled largely in favor of Oklahoma and Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready in PCMA v. Mulready, upholding most of Oklahoma’s Patient’s Right to Pharmacy Choice Act against a federal preemption challenge. This is a significant decision for the Oklahoma Insurance Department as it affirms that the Department can enforce the Act against Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs), especially in regard to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) insurance plans.
