An armed suspect that was allegedly caught burglarizing a rural location was apprehended without injury on March 22, according to documents filed in the District Court of Hughes County.
Read moreThe Board of Seminole County Commissioners voted to approve a donation from the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma to the Seminole County Sheriff’s office. Sheriff Shannon Smith stated the check was for $57,919.50 and will be used to help build a new communication tower on the south end of the county to improve communications between emergency services such as fire departments, police departments and the Sheriff’s department. Smith estimated the cost of the tower be around $80,000. The tower will be over 200 feet, and it will be the third tower in the county.
