Coping with loss during the holidays is very difficult. Maybe you have experienced the loss of a loved one, friend, pet, job, marriage, fire, flood, or another type of loss. Well, I have experienced many of these losses too. I’ve found that the holidays always seem to be so much more difficult to deal with after any type of loss. You still feel so raw and that your heart will just break in two; how could you possibly enjoy the season without your loved one? Sometimes it could be because you don’t feel that it is “right” to be happy quite yet. It might feel somewhat disloyal, or maybe you’re concerned about what message you are sending to others about your love for the departed if you let yourself enjoy the holiday. Or a myriad of other reasons.
