Mental health issues have garnered considerable attention in recent years, but the scope of the global mental health crisis may be even greater than people realize. A recent study co-led by researchers at Harvard Medical School and the University of Queensland that was published in The Lancet Psychiatry in fall 2023 concluded that one out of every two people in the world will develop a mental health disorder at some point in their lifetime. 24 Works on Paper, a traveling art exhibition by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC), opens to the public on December 9, 2023, at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, OK. This biennial exhibition features artwork by living Oklahoma artists. The show spent the last 18 months traveling to multiple locations across the state, bringing original, Oklahoman-made artwork to viewers in communities large and small.
