Gallagher Named Citizen of The Year by Konawa Chamber

Don Gallagher was named as the 2026 Konawa Citizen of the Year by the Konawa Chamber of Commerce at their annual Konawa Community Banquet on Friday night. There were over 100 in attendance at the Konawa Community Banquet, all of whom enjoyed good food, entertainment and a wonderful program.

Okla. House Proposal Adds 7 School Days For $175 Million

House lawmakers proposed extending Oklahoma’s minimum school year by seven days and pledged $175 million to make it happen. House Bill 3151 passed off the House floor 62-28 Wednesday evening and heads to the Senate, where leadership has endorsed the measure.

Local Vietnam Veteran Chosen For Honor Flight

Seminole resident Roy Boydstun, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served during the Vietnam War, has been selected to participate in the upcoming Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight mission to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to those who served in the armed forces.
