Free Dawes Roll Webinar Set Feb. 19

The State Historic Preservation Office will host a free webinar on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at noon for people to learn more about the Dawes Rolls and how to use them to find your ancestors. Laura Martin, deputy director of the Oklahoma Historical Society Research Division, will be the presenter.

Deadly Weekend on Interstate 40

It was a deadly weekend on Interstate 40 in Seminole County, as four people were killed in two separate crashes. Just before 11 p.m. Saturday, three people perished and several others were injured in a pileup that involved at least five vehicles.

Local American Legion Post Honors Decorated US Marine

American Legion Post 204 is flying a special flag the month of February in honor of a fallen Marine who was highly decorated. This month’s flag, which flies in Veterans Park north of the Seminole Municipal Building, honors Jerry Streater, who passed away in 2021.
