Seminole resident Mona Juanita Lowe, 100, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Juanita was born on April 17, 1926, in Seminole to Stillman “Tom” and Mary “Mollie” (Hilliard) Jackson. She graduated from Strother High School as the valedictorian of the Class of 1943.

On November 23, 1946, she married Winfred Lee Lowe in Wewoka. Together they shared 71 years of marriage before Winfred’s passing on January 8, 2018.

Following high school, Juanita began her career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Wewoka. As Winfred’s work required relocation, she later became the insurance clerk at the hospital in Healdton. She retired from the hospital in 1989.

After retirement, Juanita and Winfred returned to Seminole, where they became active members of the Free Will Baptist Church in Wolf. She faithfully served her church by teaching Sunday School and children’s church classes and working with the church quilters to raise funds for missions and other ministries.

Juanita enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, gardening, and preparing meals for her family. Most of all, she cherished serving her church and spending time with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Lowe; her parents, Tom and Mollie Jackson; her son, Thomas Lee Lowe; two sisters; and four brothers.

Juanita is survived by her son, Robert Lowe of Sulphur; her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ernie Walker of Arapaho; four grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Carrie Lowe of Blanchard, Kelly and Steve Woodward of Havana, Florida, Kevin and Amber Walker of Inola, Oklahoma, and Jeri and Matt Graybill of Arapaho; seven great-grandchildren, Blake Lowe, Kylie Lowe, Brandon Lowe, Jaxson Baker, Jantz Baker, Xander Woodward, Cannon Walker, and Payton Walker; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with burial to follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
