Ira Harris
Harris Ira “Buddy” Harris went to Heaven on May 28, 2026. Leaving behind his wife, Lori (Uldrich) Harris; his two sons and spouses, Jory and Cambria Harris, and Ben and Amanda Harris; two daughters, Autumn and Jason Hawkins, and Chelsea and partner Trevor; Ira had 10 grandchildren, Kyra and Lillie Harris, Merik, Rylee and Kyler Harris, Gavin and Gibson Hawkins, Jace and Madison Whorton, and Jacob Loper; he also left behind his four siblings, Lynn Noggle, Bryan Harris, Brett Harris, and Carissa Wolfe; along with many other family and friends. Ira served in both the Air Force and as a counter intelligence agent in the Army. He was a licensed minister. His civilian career was as a teacher, a principal, and 18 years as a superintendent. He received his doctorate at the University of Oklahoma, “Boomer Sooner”. Ira dedicated his life to serving Jesus, never passing up the opportunity to spread the gospel. He never met a stranger and was always ready to greet you with a smile. When asked if he had advice for others, he stated “make sure you have a relationship with Christ”, and “one thing at a time”.
Services will be Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Highway Baptist Church in Seminole, and Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Red Oak, First Baptist Church. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
