FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My husband and I have four kids, so there are many, many appointments to make and keep. We both have full-time jobs, so we split up the responsibilities by category; I get the pediatrician visits, and he does orthodontist and dentist.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My siblings and I are estranged. I live in a different state. My brother and I never got along and stopped speaking many years ago. My older sister and I, after a long, toxic relationship, finally had a blowout after Dad passed.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 12, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My stepdaughter “Annie” gave my husband a photo album of his life for his 80th birthday. The album included pictures of his parents and grandparents as well as photos from his first marriage -- to Annie’s mother.

In the last few weeks, we have looked more closely at “swoon theories” that attempt to explain what happened to Jesus of Nazareth after His crucifixion. Specifically, we looked at the recent swoon theory offered by the critic David Mirsch.

Say, do you have rats at home? I’m talking about critters with fuzzy ears and whiskers who slither around the house after dark, pick up crumbs, and eat from the dog’s bowl.

I’ve got one of those coffee mugs that have “Gibb’s Rules” printed on it. If you remember, Jethro Gibbs is the experienced, grizzled chief of the NCIS law enforcement agents.

Do. Not. Give. Up. Giving up creates hopelessness. And hopelessness creates a huge black hole of depression and deadness in you. When you quit caring about anything in life, you stop living, even though your heart continues beating.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My friend of 30 years passed away two years ago. Her husband, with whom I had a cordial relationship, has been calling me and other friends of his wife nonstop. He usually calls with irrelevant nonsense.
