Konawa resident, Vernon Dale Peters, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026 at his granddaughter’s home at lake Eufaula at the age of 97.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Mollie and Dale Herndon of Newcastle, OK; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Teresa Peters; two brothers, Jack Peters and Glen Peters and sister, LaVerne Gunton.
Viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 and Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, OK. Kelly Herndon will be officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
