Solomon Prewitt

Solomon Richard (Rick) Prewitt, Jr. was born March 15, 1948 at his parents’ home in Stroud, Oklahoma. He was the son of Annie (Deer) and Solomon Prewitt. He passed away at his home on July 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

He grew up in Stroud and Cleveland, Oklahoma. After graduating from Cleveland High School in 1966, Rick joined the United States Air Force where he served in Germany and Vietnam. He was stationed at Tan Son Nhut Air Base during the TET offensive in 1968. Rick received several AF accommodations during his service including the AF Accommodation Medal under Commander George Brown. Rick was a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV.

After retiring from Firestone in Des Moines, IA, Rick and wife Louise returned to Stroud to be near family and friends. They loved spending time outdoors and going to garage sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Louise; brothers George Deere and Ernest Prewitt.

He is survived by children Lisa Prewitt and Richard Alexander Prewitt of Shreveport, LA and Brielei Crawford of the home; grandsons Micah Prewitt and Jordan and David Crawford; brother and sister-in-law Jerry ad Joy Prewitt; sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Tom Collins and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. His big smile and laughter will be missed by all.

A private service was held by the family at Solomon’s home on July 6, 2022.
