Rosetta Lee O’Guinn, 72 of Shawnee Oklahoma, transitioned to be with the LORD peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2024 with her husband by her side in Shawnee.

She was born June 3, 1951 to Clifford Dean and Laura Toles in Boley, Oklahoma.

Rosettta lived in Boley until 5 years of age and then she and her mother moved to Wewoka where she grew up and attended Douglas grade school and graduated from Wewoka High School.

She married her high school sweetheart Melvin O’Guinn on December 24, 1970.

Rosetta worked at Big Yank, TDK as an inspector, and later at COJC for many years.

She was baptized at the early age of 9 by the late A. Jackson at St. Jospeh Baptist Church in Wewoka where she was a faithful member until she moved to Shawnee.

Rosetta loved engaging in poetry, shopping, playing spades and dominoes, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; son, Bryce O’Guinn and daughter- in-law, Serreta O’Guinn; her brother, Bill Philips and sister Margeret.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of over 53 years, Melvin O’Guinn of the home; son, James Toles of Wewoka OK; daughter, Na’Tika O’Guinn of Shawnee OK; grandchildren, Cortney Prince, Chris Jones, Jasmine Toles, Diontre O’Guinn, Airess Martinez, Allegra Sloan, Anthony O’Guinn, Ta’Sean Hishaw and Jayden Jones; great-grandchildren, Maliah Prince, Kyrie O’Guinn, Mario Prince Jr. and Greysen Martinez; mother-in-law, Thirkield O’Guinn; nephews, Mike O’Guinn, Lance O’Guinn, Eugene Carter Jr. and Tim Carter; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cleophus and Edie O’Guinn of CA and Barbara Philips; and a host of loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home and continue through service time. Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Brooks, officiating. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
