Norma Lee Goss, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in Weatherford Texas, surrounded by loved ones.

Norma, the daughter of Ira Oliver and Beulah Belle (Parsons) Birkicht, was born June 1, 1942, in Shawnee. She graduated high school at Prairie Valley School. On July 6, 1971, she married Donald Franklin Goss at her mother’s home; they enjoy 26 years of marriage prior to his passing. On October 14, 2017, she married Robert Hurst at Bethel Acres Assembly of God Church. Norma was the director of childcare at the Seminole United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed yard work, cooking, shopping, and watching OU football with her boys, but nothing was as dear to her as spending time with her family.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a grandson, Nick Patterson; brothers, Eugene Birkicht, Charles Birkicht, Billy Birkicht, and George Birkicht; and a sister, Rosa Lou Goforth.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Goss of Shawnee, Mark Goss of Macomb, Brad Goss and his wife, Cindy of Weatherford Texas, and Derek Goss of Little Rock Arkansas; daughters, Lisa Goss and her husband Greg, of Pink, and Gina Goss of Shawnee; grandchildren, Cassie, Tyler, Brooke, Jason, Chad, Summer, Bradon, Haley, and Cody; 12 great grandchildren; a brother Fred Birkicht and his wife Dorothy of Alexandria Louisiana; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Birkicht, and many other family and friends.

A visitation is scheduled for 2:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Swearingen Funeral Home.

Services will be Monday, June 14, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole, with Pastor Larry Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Garden in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
