Leo Jack Tiger, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on April 13, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73. He was born on November 13, 1948, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Willie Jack Tiger and Marie (Powell) Tiger. He grew up in the Lima area and spent most of his life in Seminole. He was a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, received an Associate of Arts degree from Seminole State College and attended East Central University.

Leo served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War and served as a drill Sergeant during Desert Storm. He worked for Seminole Public Schools as the Seminole High School girls’ softball coach, bus driver and was the JOM Coordinator for Seminole Schools until his retirement. He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and served on the General Council for Eufaula Band. He was inducted into the Seminole High School Hall of Fame and was a member of the local VFW.

Leo enjoyed watching his grandkids and kids play sports, playing softball, watching westerns, watching OU football, softball and basketball, Thunder basketball, Dallas Cowboys and the KC Chiefs. He loved his family above anything. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He coached Seminole’s first softball team along with Vic Richardson. Along with Vic, he helped coach the First State Slow Pitch Championship in 1995, 1996 & 1997. He loved being outside, watching the squirrels and hummingbirds.

Left to cherish Leo’s memory are his wife of 48 years, Madeline Tiger of the home, his son; Leo Tiger II and wife Tina of Seminole and grandsons; Levie and Koda Tiger, daughter; Erica Tiger of Seminole and his granddaughter he raised; Jowina Tiger, one son and 3 daughters, five brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his baby son, his daughter; Marissa Tiger, eight brothers, four sisters and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces (who nicknamed him Leo Jackson) and nephews. Wake services for Leo will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church with Houston Tiger and Jason Tiger officiating. Burial will follow at the Harjo-Fixico Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Joe Fixico, Pvto Rogers, Dylan Fixico, Lantz Fixico, Joe Joe Fixico and the New Tulsa Warriors. Honorary bearers will be Tvlofv Fixico, Kenny Drapeau, Tim Rogers, Levie Tiger, Koda Tiger, Gary Lena and Peanut McPerryman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
