Kevin “CAT” Maurice Woodfork was born on July 14, 1960, to Jesse Jr. and Rosie Mae (Island) Woodfork in Seminole, Oklahoma. Kevin grew up in Seminole. He became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church at a young age under the leadership of the late Rev. J. E. Woodfork, Sr. He was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of the late Rev. L. T. Crawford Sr., where he served faithfully until he moved to Sapulpa. He became a member and served as a Deacon at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Sapulpa under the leadership of the late Rev. Busby.

Kevin attended Seminole Public Schools. He graduated from SHS in 1978. CAT was an elite athlete. He lettered in Football, Basketball and Track. He was a member of the 1978 Seminole Chieftain State Championship Football team proudly wearing #86. Kevin married his high school sweetheart Donna Foxx on August 30, 1986. They were blessed with two children, Jacqueline and Kevin II. While they lived in Sapulpa, he worked for Wilbert Vault Company.

His favorite things to do were fishing and watching America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys! He enjoyed fishing with his friends Reggie, Rusty and Curtis. If you wanted a lively conversation just mention them Boys!

Kevin’s memory will be cherished by his wife Donna of Shawnee, his children, Kevin (Erika) of Norman, Jaqueline of Norman; his grandchildren Isabella Grace, Kevin III and Esaias Solomon; his siblings Dee Dee (Jerry), Freda, Samuel (Kellye) of Norman, Karla, Koretta (Brian) of Oklahoma City and Kozetta of Dallas, TX; his nieces Jerece, JaLeisa, Jade, Brianna, Taylor and Sydnie; nephews J.D., Samuel II, Jerry II, Joshua and Josiah; his uncle Oscar (Bobbie) Island of Oklahoma City, OK; his aunties Earnescelle Shelton of Lima, OK, Minnie Hinex of Earlsboro, OK; his cousin Mary Louise McGee of Checotah, OK and a beautiful host of cousins and friends.

Kevin is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his parents Jesse Jr. and Rosie Mae Woodfork, and sister Karoletta R. Woodfork.

His best advice: “We have to learn to pray while the sun is shining so when the storms come you can sleep easy.”

Viewing for Kevin will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

The funeral service for Kevin will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Michael Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, east of Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Jesse Darnell Woodfork, Samuel Woodfork, Jr., Jerry Greyson II, Joshua Grayson and Josiah Grayson. Honorary bearers will be Reginald L. Wright, Samuel Woodfork, Sr. and Rusty McAlvain.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
