Judith Carolyn (Dobbins) Akerman, age 79 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma. Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate, and burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers are Jacob Akerman, Lucas Akerman, Ross Akerman, Dakota Jesse, Jon Hoff, and Arron Kelsey. Honorary bearers are Steve Dobbins, Russell Dobbins, Mark Reeves, and Mickey Akerman. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Judith was born April 13, 1940 in St. Louis, Oklahoma to Dick Dobbins and Beloysa Carrie (Ingram) Dobbins. She graduated from St. Louis High School and married William John Akerman. Judith loved her family very much. The family would like to say a special “thank you” to Victory Home Health for their love and care of Judith.

She is survived by one son, Allan Akerman and wife, Karol of Konawa; one daughter, Sherry Jesse of Konawa; two brothers, Steve Dobbins and wife, Lyn of Allen, Oklahoma, and Russell Dobbins and wife, Julie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda Dunn and husband, Ernie of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; special friend and caregiver, Wanda Brice of Konawa; seven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Beloysa Dobbins; husband, William John Akerman on September 8, 2014; one son, Glen Dale Akerman in April 2008; and one brother, James Dobbins.
