Juanita Satterfield

Juanita Satterfield, 95 of Ada, OK died Sunday, December 26, 2021 at a Seminole Nursing Home. She was born May 3, 1926 at Bakersfield, MO to Charles and Anna Mitchell Price.

She married Neil Satterfield on September 28, 1944 in West Plains, MO. Neil and Juanita moved their three daughters to Ada, OK in late December, 1957, and opened their first shoe store there January 17, 1958. Juanita was bookkeeper the entire time they were in business.

They eventually owned shoe stores in eight Oklahoma cities plus three stores in the Dallas area and two clothing stores.

They were active members of First Baptist, Ada, where Juanita taught an adult ladies Sunday School class for many years. She also enjoyed working alongside Neil at Dale Carnegie classes. Her favorite hobby was fishing at Lake Texoma.

Preceding Juanita in death were her parents; Neil, her husband of 58 years; her daughter, Shirley Wood; and a brother, Frank Price.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Ron) Frederick of Seminole, OK and Carolyn (Mark) Pasqualino of Ocala, FL and a son-in-law, Alton Wood of Kingston, OK; two brothers, Onis Price of Pampa, TX and Donal Price of Nixa, MO and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Price, Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Eric (Laura) Carlson, Gig Harbor, WA, Darren (Donna) Frederick, Seminole, OK, Emily Barstow, Ocala, FL, Jason (Jeana) Wood, Claremore, OK, Eddie (Heather) Wood, Anna, TX, and Shane (Leigh) Wood, Van Alstyne, TX; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and first cousins.

The family wishes to thank Joyce Mefford and Avonlea Cottage for their loving care.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Criswell Funeral Home, 815 Arlington, Ada, OK 74820, Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Masks are strongly encouraged at the family’s request.
