Seminole resident Gerald Don Vaughn, 74, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Oklahoma City.

Gerald, the son of Johnny and Opal (Warrenburg) Vaughn, was born November 14, 1947, in Seminole. After graduating with the Strother High School class of 1965, he proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam. On May 10, 1974, he married Janey Lemings in Shawnee. Gerald and Janey made their home in the Little area, where Gerald enjoyed working his cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Vicki McAnally.

Gerald is survived by his wife Janey, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Shauna Vaughn of Seminole; a brother, Ron Vaughn of Seminole; sisters, Anita and Tom Lemmings of Seminole, Linda and Buster Wilcox of Seminole, Gayla and Dale Conn of Oklahoma City, and Ann and Danny McSperitt of Bowlegs; three grandchildren, Brooklyn Southers and Austin, Dylan Vaughn and Caitlin, and Malia Sherrin; and one great grandson Hendrix Lee Southers; and many other family and friends.

Viewing for Gerald will begin Sunday afternoon at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Services will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearing Funeral Home in Seminole.
