Wewokans Recognized at Annual Chamber Banquet
The Wewoka Chamber of Business & Industry wishes to thank everyone who attended and supported its annual banquet that was held March 30.
Banquet goers enjoyed dining on delicious food from El Cazador while listening to guest speaker, Trait Thompson, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
“The Chamber would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our local businesses and citizens for their donations to our silent auction. Special thanks goes to the High School Interact and Leo Clubs for volunteering to help serve and cleanup and Hillary Pitts, Richard wanger, Wewoka Flower Shoppe, and Denise Moore our beautiful decorations,” said Chamber Director Sheila Egge.
Several awards were presented to Chamber members for their contributions to the community.
Business of the Year: Norman Drug for 100 years of dedicated service. (See feature story on page 2).
Valerie Carolina Award: Paula Petite.
Project of the Year: Security State Bank for the Affordable Housing Program. accepted by Jesse Grandstaff.
Distinguished Service Award: former Mayor Paige Sherry.
Citizen of the Year: Dennis Phillips.
