Ten SHS Students To be Honored at Chamber Forum
Ten Seminole High School students will be honored for their academic accomplishments during the Seminole Chamber of Commerce forum meeting Thursday with the presentation of academic letter jackets.
Forum will take place in Utterback Ballroom of the Enoch Kelly Haney Center on the campus of Seminole State College at noon on Thursday, October 9, 2025. This year’s recipients are: Alexis Cain, daughter of Justin and Belinda Cain; Kerrington Hardeman, daughter of Kevin and Cheri Hardeman; Kyla Kiker, daughter of Kyle and Kari Kiker; Ethan Miller, son of Doug and Molli Miller; Halo Pace, daughter of Sarah Akers; Alayna Phillips, daughter of Sonny Phillips; and Ben Schatzel, son of Lauren and Brad Schatzel; Bradey Sims, son of Katie and Brian Sims; Ryeley Stanfill, daughter of Shane and Shanelle Stanfill and Julia Farrow, and Gracie Stark, daughter of Matthew and Angela Stark.
This year’s letter jackets will be presented by representatives from the following sponsors: American Legion Post #204, First United Bank, Wrangler - Kontoor Brands, Bar-S Foods, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative, Seminole Rotary Club, Seminole State College, Banc-First, Security State Bank and Moran Oil Enterprise.
Students are selected for the recognition based on weighted grade averages at the end of their junior year. Weighted grades are based on the number of advanced courses students take. The grading for those classes is on a higher level.
The letter jacket awards program is sponsored by the Chamber Education Committee. Seminole State College will serve as the host sponsor for Thursday’s program.
