Tag Agencies Closed as State Overhauls System
The Seminole Tag Agency will be closed until next Tuesday as part of a statewide system upgrade.
All Oklahoma tag agencies closed Feb. 12 and will reopen Feb. 17 as Service Oklahoma, the agency responsible for providing driver and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state, overhauls its system.
In addition to the closure of physical offices, online services are unavailable during the transition.
“On February 17, 2026, Service Oklahoma launches a modernized platform that brings driver license and motor vehicle services together, reducing wait times, simplifying online access and strengthening identity protections for all Oklahomans,” the Service Oklahoma website states.
The upgrade includes the replacement of OkCars with the “Navigate” platform, a one-stop destination for driver license and vehicle e-services online. With one account, one login, that is accessible from any device, users will be able to: · Renew or replace a driver license or state ID · Update address · Register or renew vehicle registration · Access license status and motor vehicle records · Complete transactions without visiting a location The upgrade boasts faster service at all Service Oklahoma and licensed operator statewide, including: · Standard transactions completed in under 10 minutes · Electronic signature on a tablet instead of printed paperwork · Automatic license reinstatements when requirements are met · Disability placard applications accepted at any Licensing and Exam location “The new platform brings together driver license and motor vehicle services in one system for the first time, reducing duplicate steps and making every visit more efficient,” Service Oklahoma says.
A new driver’s license and state ID are also being rolled out. Features include: · 100% polycarbonate material that resists cracking, bending, peeling, and tampering · Laser-engraved portrait that’s extremely difficult to alter or forge · Animated secondary photo with text that changes based on viewing angle · UV-visible imagery and microprinting of all 77 Oklahoma county names According to Service Oklahoma, the new design “celebrates Oklahoma’s natural beauty, culture, and pride by featuring iconic Oklahoma symbols, including the North American bison, scissor-tailed flycatcher, rolling prairie and the redbud tree.”
