Local families who are in need this Thanksgiving can sign up for a turkey dinner with all the trimmings with the annual Turkey Hotline, sponsored by the Church of Christ at Seminole.

The meal includes everything that’s needed for a Thanksgiving dinner, including a frozen turkey.

Many individuals, and church members from across the county, help with donations to make this meal a success.

“Members of the church all help get the event organized and ready for the families to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner,” organizers say.

To sign up for the Turkey Hotline, call the church at (405) 382-0548 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or go to the Church of Christ building, located at 12040 North Highway 99. Signups are being taken until this Friday, Oct. 24 and meals will be distributed between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Nov. 22. According to church leaders, they are preparing to feed 50 families this year.

To receive the meal, you must live in the City of Seminole and provide proof of residency with a driver’s license, an electric bill or a water bill.

For the past several years, the members of Church of Christ of Seminole have looked at ways of giving back to their community around the holidays when funds seem to run tight for many families.
