Former Seminole High School graduate and current East Central University student, Brody Haley was recently invited to the Central Association of Russian Teachers of America (CARTA) conference held in Austin, Texas.

Haley gave a presentation on the history of comic books in post-Soviet Russia and was awarded Best Student Presentation. Additionally, he received several gifts including a replica of a Russian beard token.

This opportunity was provided by ECU Professor, Dr. Mara Sukholutskaya, who is president of CARTA. This is the second year that Haley has been invited to present at this conference. He stated that the conference has always been a wealth of knowledge and experience and is grateful to have been invited.
