Seminole County Republican Convention Next Saturday

Posted in:

The Seminole County Republican Convention is set for 9 a.m. next Saturday, March 1 at GiGi’s Lunch Counter, 206 North Main in Seminole.

Guests at the convention include State Representative Danny Williams, R-Seminole, and State Senator David Bullard, R-Durant.

Williams is Majority Caucus Vice Chair of the Legislature. He serves on the following Committees: Public Health, Alcohol, Tobacco and Controlled Substances, Children, Youth and Family Services, Veteran and Military Affairs. He will address the Convention and give an overview of the bills which are making their way through the House of Representatives.

Bullard graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a bachelor of arts degree in social studies education. He also earned a master’s degree in education and educational administration from Lamar University. He spent the last 15 years teaching the foundations of the nation; from the faith and grit of our forefathers to the sacrifices endured by many to secure our freedoms.

Bullard taught advanced placement U.S, history, advanced placement government, and the U.S. Constitution. He also serves on the executive board of Patriots Ministries. Bullard married his wife Amber in 2002, and she currently serves as a principal of a local public high school. He and his family live in Durant, where their children attend a local public school. Last week, the Senate Energy Committee unanimously approved Bullard’s Senate Bill 92. This bill would make a one-time appropriation to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board so the agency can offer low-interest loans so communities can upgrade and replace their aging water and wastewater infrastructure.

Refreshments will be provided at the event and all are welcome to attend, but please note that only registered Republicans will be allowed to vote. Organizers say delegates for the national convention will be voted on during next week’s local convention.
