Seminole’s Chocolate Festival, Christmas Parade Slated Dec. 6
A group of local organizations are once again working together to celebrate the Christmas spirit in the Seminole community and surrounding area.
Chocolate lovers will be thrilled to know that the Chocolate Festival will be returning on Saturday, Dec. 6, followed by the annual Christmas Parade on Main Street. Kids will be especially pleased to hear that Santa has confirmed he will be riding in the parade.
This special Christmas celebration is made possible through a collaboration between the Seminole Arts Council, the Seminole Downtown District, Seminole Chamber of Commerce, and American Legion Post 204.
The Seminole Arts Council is proud to announce they will be hosting the Chocolate Festival at their Art Center, which recently moved to 139 N. Main Street. The festival will feature a wide variety of chocolate and other tasty treats for sale from noon to 5 p.m. This event will include live holiday entertainment and vendor shopping. In addition to a wealth of sweet treats, there will also be a silent auction featuring various artworks and other items.
There will be a short break after the Chocolate Festival before the Christmas Parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
The public is invited and encouraged to participate in the parade, and registration is open and free. The Chamber of Commerce will be providing cash prizes for the best floats and other entries. The theme this year is “Santa Clause is Coming to Town.”
All proceeds from the Chocolate Festival help support the Art Center as well as the many art-focused community initiatives the Arts Council sponsors year-round. The Arts Council greatly appreciates any donations of dessert or auction items. To learn more or to arrange a donation dropoff or pickup, please call or text (405) 303-1191.
