OBN Serves Warrants On Local Pot Dispensary
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) was in Seminole this week, serving search warrants at a local weed dispensary that was allegedly operating illegally.
A heavy law enforcement presence was in place early Friday morning outside of the Reefer Shack at 520 East Broadway. Witnesses say the officers could be heard banging loudly on the doors and shouting, “open up, we have search warrants!”
OBN spokesman Mark Woodward said that the dispensary was operating without a valid OBN registration. He added that no arrests have been made thus far, and the investigation is still ongoing. Records show that the Reefer Shack is owned by J&J Weed Company.
At press time, no additional details regarding the nature of the search warrants were available.
The OBN has been very active across Oklahoma in recent days, seizing marijuana products from operations that were not in compliance with state law.
On July 16, OBN’s Marijuana Enforcement Teams (MET) served a Search Warrant at Diamond Trichome LLC (1801 N. Morton Ave. Okmulgee, Oklahoma) as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. OBN MET Agents seized 7,282 marijuana plants and 534 pounds of processed marijuana. Arrests are pending as this investigation moves forward.
Since 2021, OBN MET Agents have shut down over 6,000 illegal marijuana farms through enforcement and/or administrative actions for grows tied to black market trafficking and obtaining an OBN Registration by fraud using “straw ownership” schemes. At the end of 2022, 8,400 farms were operating with an active OBN Registration. Today, that number stands at approximately 2,100.
Citizens can anonymously report criminal drug and human trafficking activity to OBN’s tip-line at 800-522-8031 or sending OBN a direct message via its Facebook page.
