Local Man Faces Rape, Child Porn Charges
ASeminole man is facing multiple sex crime-related charges involving two underage girls.
Nineteen-year-old Julius Shaw was booked into the Seminole County Jail on March 31 on complaints of second-degree rape and the buying, procuring and possession of child pornography. Shaw was formally charged on April 8 with one count of rape in the second degree, one count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and one count of possession of juvenile pornography, all felonies.
According to court documents filed by District Attorney Erik Johnson, Shaw is accused of having sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 16 when he was over 18 years of age. The alleged sex acts took place between Aug. 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025. The crime carries a punishment of 1-15 years in prison if he is found guilty.
The second felony, lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, involved a different female. Court documents state that during the same time period Shaw “knowingly and intentionally touched the breast of a 12-year-old girl in a lewd or lascivious manner by act(s) against public decency and morality.” If Shaw is convicted on this charge, he faces a possible 25-year prison term.
As for the third charge, possession of juvenile pornography, Shaw is accused of having nude pictures of the 16-yearold he allegedly had sex with when he “knew the nature and character of the contents of said child sexual abuse material.” That crime, according to state statute, is punishable by imprisonment for not more than twenty years or a fine of not more than $25,000, or by both the fine and imprisonment. Those convicted under this section are not eligible for a deferred sentence.
According to court records, Shaw’s bond was set at $100,000 and he was ordered to be under the supervision of Oklahoma Court Services. Shaw is due back in court for a status conference on April 17.
