Local Bank Receives Award For Commitment to Communities
Security State Bank of Oklahoma, a member institution of FHLBank Topeka since 2002, was selected as FHLBank Topeka’s 2025 Community Leader Award winner in recognition of its vision and dedication to the communities it serves.
“We know that community leadership is not about being the biggest—it’s about showing up consistently, listening carefully and serving with integrity. That’s the commitment we’ve made to our community, and we work to fulfill that promise every day,” said Tip Burch, CEO of Security State Bank of Oklahoma.
Security State Bank received the award at a private event at Seminole State College on Monday, Aug. 4. The event brought together staff from Security State Bank and FHLBank Topeka, leaders from the Seminole Nation and citizens of Wewoka, Oklahoma, and the surrounding areas.
“There are a lot of people that make it possible to do good works in the communities where we serve. I want to thank our staff, whose education and heart show up in their work every day. I thank our customers who trust us not just with their money, but with their hopes and their dreams. And I thank our partners like FHLBank Topeka, who provide the tools and resources to help small banks like us accomplish big things,” Burch said.
The Community LeaderAward includes a $10,000 donation to a nonprofit organization of the winning institution’s choice. Security State Bank of Oklahoma chose the Boys and Girls Club of the Seminole Nation for the honor.
The awards ceremony featured a video tribute to Security State Bank and their efforts to support their customers, communities, nonprofits and their partnerships with the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and other community networks. The video is posted to FHLBank Topeka’s website at www.fhlbtopeka.com.
