Energy Efficiencies To be Discussed at Thursday’s Forum
Commercial energy efficiency will be the featured topic at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce monthly forum meeting on Thursday March 13, 2025. The luncheon meeting will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Haney Center at Seminole State College.
The program was originally scheduled for January 9, 2025 but was cancelled due to weather issues.
Representatives from OG&E will be presenting information about area economic development and programs that offer financial incentives when energy efficiency measures are implemented at commercial facilities. Various types of facilities qualify for the programs, including: large commercial facilities (over 200 kW annual usage); small businesses (under 200 kW annual usage); qualifying municipal and government buildings; and educational and publicly funded facilities.
Opportunities to make electricity usage more efficient will be discussed. Among items to be covered are: lighting retrofit; HVAC tune-ups/ HVAC replacement; new construction; gaskets/strip curtains; commercial kitchen equipment; chillers/Geothermal, cooling towers; VFD’s; retro commissioning; and control systems.
The presentation will also address energy efficiency opportunities for residences.
