Eight Bound For SHS Alumni Hall of Fame

E ight new members are set for induction into the Seminole High School Alumni Hall of Fame next weekend. The ceremony is slated for Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. at the high school.

The Hall of Fame ceremony is part of Homecoming weekend, which kicks off Friday. An all-class reunion is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Center. For a complete schedule of events, visit the SHS of Oklahoma Alumni page on Facebook.

The bios of this year’s inductees appear below.

SANDI SANDLIN SABEL Sandi attended all 12 years in Seminole Schools and graduated in 1963. While in high school, she was a cheerleader for three years and was a part of Honor Guard. She was a STUCO representative and secretary. Sandi was a part of the Big Chief staff and was activities editor for the yearbook. She was also a part of Glee Club, Mixed Chorus and was in the Junior Class play. Sandi was elected Basketball Queen and was also its Junior Attendant, and the Miami Basketball Class A Tournament Queen. She also was a part of Junior Concessions and Prom Committee.

After graduation, Sandi attended OU and graduated with a degree in design and a double minor in Art History and Business. In 1978, Sandi started an interior design company working for individual clients and businesses. Sandi has been in the Girl Scouts Organization where she trained adults and girls in leadership. She was named Outstanding Volunteer for her contributions. Sandi and her family developed a line of Organic Artisan Food and travelled to Culinary and Fine Arts Events selling their award-winning products. Her husband, Hugh, and she have retired to live in Kyle, Texas. They have two adult children, Kevin and Darcy.

PAM FLEMING MORGAN Pam graduated from SHS in 1975. She was in Band for six years, garnering many awards during that time. She led the SHS Band in competition as a head twirler and they received All District Honors. The band also won the Oklahoma State Fair competition. They also got invited to march at OU Band Day. While there were no District Awards for girls’ tennis at that time, Seminole was highly ranked.

Pam has spent much of her adulthood volunteering not only for Seminole Schools, but also for the community. Though she worked for 25 years as Seminole Municipal Court Clerk, that did not prevent her from serving on the Red Cross and was the Gusher Days Coordinator. Pam also served as President of Beta Sigma Phi, a sorority that focuses on serving the community. Naturally, what she is most proud the three generations of Chieftains – Tyler and Jessie, their two children, and three grandchildren. She has been married to Curtis Morgan for 45 years. Pam is retired working on their ranch.

FRANCIS “DEE DEE” WOODFORK GRAYSON Dee Dee Woodfork is a 1980 graduate of Seminole High School. Included in her many activities are SHS Band for three years, pep club for three years, Future Teachers of America for two years, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Drama Club.

Dee Dee was on the honor roll for three years and was named to Who’s Who Among American Students. She was also named Kiwanis Student of the Month.

Dee Dee was named Homecoming Basketball Queen in 1980, but her real talent was displayed on the court. She was a fiveyear member of the SHS girls’ basketball team and was named All-State her senior year. Dee Dee was also a star in track and was described by her former coach as one of the greatest athletes ever to put on an SHS uniform.

Upon graduation, Dee Dee attended Murray State where she was a starter on three National Juco Championship teams. She also attended Southwestern and was a starter on their NAIA Championship team. She leaves a legacy of excellence as one of Seminole High School’s finest students.

KYLE BOGGS Kyle Boggs is a graduate of the Class of 1990. He was active in all aspects of Seminole High School and successful in all of them.

Kyle was a four-year member of the SHS basketball team, named Captain his senior year and honored with being on the Star Conference All Star Team. He was a member of the track team and weightlifting team for four years.

Along with sports, Kyle was active in Student Council, Science and Math clubs and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also earned a place on the National Honor Society and was named Student of the Month.

Kyle was a member of “Mixed Company” Choir and earned the Award of Excellence in Choir his senior year. He also received Superior ratings in Solo Competition at both District and State Competitions. He was the lead in “Damn Yankees” during his senior year.

Kyle and wife, Kristi, make their home in Seminole where they are both active in their church, Immanuel Fellowship. Kyle is Assistant Vice President for J. S. Held, a building consulting firm.

CARA COWAN WATTS Cara is the daughter of Beverly and Curley Cowan and graduated from SHS in 1992. Being named Valedictorian exemplifies her drive for excellence. While being a part of the Debate Program, she and Laura Seay were State CX Debate Champions in 1990. The following year, they were Runners-Up State Champions. Cara earned Outstanding Distinction given by the NFL (National Forensic League). She also participated in Band for six years and was selected for All-District Honor Band. Cara participated in various school-sponsored clubs and was a Camp Goddard counselor. She is a HOB4 Alumnus.

Continuing her education, Cara graduated from Oklahoma State University earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1997 and a Master of Science in Telecommunication Management from OSU-Tulsa in 2002. She also received the Ely S. Parker Award from the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. Cara later earned her Doctorate of Biosystems Engineering in 2015. She married Doug Watts, who started Tulsa Pier Drilling. Cara is PH D, CEO and principal owner of the company. She credits her parents and SHS in giving her a strong foundation that continues to influence her life’s work.

LINCOLN DEARING Lincoln attended Seminole Schools Kindergarten through 12th grade and graduated in 2008. He was on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, and a member of the National Honor Society. Lincoln was also named to the Honor Hall and was a USA All-American Scholar. He was a part of SILO and was named Student of the Month. Lincoln was a member of several school clubs including FCA, Yearbook and Prom Committee, STUCO and several others.

Lincoln loved baseball, evidenced by him being named All-District in Baseball and Honorable Mention All-State in Baseball. He played all four years in both baseball and football. Being named to All Conference was another honor he received. His senior year, Lincoln received the 66 Conference Scholarship.

After graduation, Lincoln attended and graduated from Oklahoma Christian University where he played and coached baseball. His master’s degree was in Sports Administration from East Central University. Lincoln coached and taught at Seminole High School and then moved on to be head baseball coach at Bethel. He was named District Coach of the Year in 2022.

Currently, Lincoln is the Assistant Transportation Director at Shawnee High School. He and his wife, Kali, have one son, Declan, and reside in Shawnee.

CASADY FLETCHER Casady graduated in 2008. He was Salutatorian of his class. He received an Academic Letter Jacket and was Vice-President of the local National Honor Society. His academic success was rewarded when he was named Academic All-State. Only 100 students across the state receive that honor.

Casady participated in several school clubs being a four-year member of STUCO, a Camp Goddard counselor, President of the Math Club to name a few. He also made All District Band.

He enjoyed golf and his team went to the state tourney for three of his four years playing. Casady was team captain his senior year. Casady medaled in several tournaments in his junior and senior years. He earned a golf scholarship to attend OBU. He graduated with a BS in finance and worked for OBU as an Assistant Sports Information Director.

Currently, Casady works at Seminole High School teaching Algebra II, Trigonometry/ Pre-Calculus. He is also the Esports Coach, and had led these teams to the playoffs the last two years.

PEYTON FLETCHER REESE Having attended Seminole Schools for 12 years, Peyton graduated in 2011. She was the top 10% of her class. She received an Academic Letter Jacket and was on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll all four years.

Peyton was in STUCO for four years and held several leadership positions all four years. She was also voted as “Best All Around” by her fellow seniors. Peyton was active in various school clubs and was named Student of the Month.

Peyton was as active in sports as she was in academics. She played Slow Pitch Softball all four years and captain her senior year. She was All-District in Slow Pitch Softball. Extending her love for softball, she also played Fast Pitch for three years. Peyton enjoyed basketball as well and played all four years earning an Honorable Mention – All District. She used her athleticism to be a part of the Pom Squad for four years and was co-captain her senior year.

Peyton went on to college and graduated with a BS in Exercise Science (Kinesiology). She is married to Dylan Reese, and they live in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is a physical therapy assistant, and Dylan is a salesman for York. They have one son, Hudson.
