Creek County Man Killed, Area Teen Hurt in Crash
A Creek County man was killed and a Konawa teenager was critically injured in two-vehicle crash just south of Seminole over the weekend.
The crash occurred Sunday, Feb. 16 at about 6:36 a.m. on Highway 377 near EW131 Road, approximately 6 miles south of Seminole.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), 18-year-old Braylon Hunter of Konawa was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger at the time of the crash. He was transported by Air Evac to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition with multiple injuries. There were no passengers in the Charger.
The other vehicle involved was a 2003 Ford Taurus, driven by Evan Jackson, 35, of Kellyville. Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene due to multiple injuries sustained in the collision and was transported to Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Okemah. He had no passengers in his vehicle, according to the OHP.
Both drivers were pinned for an undetermined amount of time before being extricated. Seat belts were in use by both men and airbags were deployed in both vehicles. The weather was clear at the time of the crash, the OHP reported.
The crash was investigated by Trooper Ty Wal-lace #485 of the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Okla-homa Highway Patrol. The OHP said the cause of the accident as well as the condition of the drivers was under investigation.
