Nineteen National Beta members from Bowlegs High School are celebrating their recent participation in the Oklahoma Senior Beta State Convention.

They brought home a total of 10 trophies from the competition. In Division 1 individual competitions, Kolten Beave placed first in Science, Tylar Lee placed second in Health and Physical Education and Mary-Beth Dunagan won second in Fiber Arts.

In Division 2 individual competitions, Grace Dunagan placed first in both Digital Art and Onsite Drawing. Hudson Jasna placed in U.S. History, Melissa Burns came in third place in Recyclable Art and Aubrie Talamasy placed third in Science. Beta Senior team competitions: Living Literature: 1st Place and 2-Dimensional Design, Banner: 3rd Place.

The Bowlegs Chapter of The National Beta Club consists of students in grades 9-12 who have been selected for membership based on their scholarship, character and leadership abilities. Throughout the year the chapter sponsors school and community service activities and prepares for competition at the state convention.

The National Beta State Convention allows students the opportunity to compete in various individual and team competitions and opportunities to run for several leadership positions. These achievements at the state level provide an opportunity to compete at the national level. The national convention will be held in Orlando, Florida during summer 2025.
