He graduated from Konawa High School. Carlton worked for his father at Walker Brothers Drilling in Konawa for many years. He spent 19 years of dedicated service as shop foreman at A & J Transportation in Ada as a diesel mechanic. There was nothing about diesel engines he did not know.
