Judy Short

Judy Marie Short, Seminole resident, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at her home, at the age of 72.

Judy was born on October 4, 1949, in Fresno, California to George Earl and Jimmie Lee Yvonne Dyer (Gammill) Simmons.

Judy was one of a kind. She would give you the shirt off her back and the last penny in her pocket. She helped raise many of her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and anyone her kids brought home. She was a loving, caring and giving woman. Judy was the best momma and Nene anyone could have ever asked for. She left this world in the comfort of her own home, in the arms of her loving husband, daughter, Nancy and sister, Earlene, surrounded by family and friends. She will be loved and missed by all that knew her.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dewey L. Short; her daughter, Nancy Short Jasna and husband, Nathan; grandsons, Ethan Jasna and wife, Emily, Logan Jasna, Hudson Jasna and her great granddaughter Everly Jasna, all of the home; her son, Troy Short and wife, Debbie of Seminole; daughter, Donna Murray and husband, Jack of Owasso, son, Robin Short of Ft. Worth, TX and daughter, Billie Hyden and husband, Roger of Seminole; brothers, Terry Huff and wife, Tomi of Van Buren, AR, Willis Simmons of Paden, sisters, Earlene Avey of Paden and Derinda Reade of Seminole; grandchildren, Cari Henley, Derick Worley, Amy Prentice, Danny Prentice Jr., Marcus Short and Jonathan Short; sister-in-law, Gaylen Freeman of Sallisaw; brother-in-law, Lynn Short and wife, cricket of Paden and many nieces, nephews and numerous other family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie Lee Yvonne Dyer and Charles Roy “Junior Dyer and George Earl Simmons; her baby sister, Janet Keith; son, Jay Short; best friend, Betty Poindexter; brothers-in-law, Cameron Avey, David Short and JD Freeman and grandparents, John and Minnie Gammill and Ralph and Jennie Simmons

A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Mrs. Judy Marie Short.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
