He was born November 14, 1951, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Billy Heard and Melva (Ligon) Heard. He grew up in the Vamoosa/Wolf areas in Oklahoma. He graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1970. Randy married Shanah Williams in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

She is survived by two sons Matthew and wife Britta Gibson, Valparaiso, IN; Mark Gibson, Xenia, OH; and seven grandchildren, Shannon Gibson, Micco Gibson, Trevor Cochran, Zach Estepp, ; Samantha Gibson (including Samantha’s mother Terri Gibson), Charles Gibson and Graham Gibson; and great-granddaughter Sage Tanner. She had an unwavering love for her family.
