Monday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it will be seeking applications to serve on the newly established Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Serving Institutions Advisory Council (HBCUMSI AC). The HBCU-MSI Advisory Council will provide Independent advice and recommendations to Administrator Michael S. Regan and future Administrators on how Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) can help identify any barriers to equal employment opportunity, nurture the next generation of environmental leaders, and ensure that these vital Institutions of higher learning have the resources and support to thrive for generations to come.
Read moreThe United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced last week that Erin Nicole Fixico-Mitchell, age 33, of Ada, Oklahoma, was sentenced to sixty-nine months imprisonment each for three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in Indian Country, followed by a tenyear term of supervised release. The sentences are set to be served concurrently. The charges arose from an investigation by the Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
