Oklahoma Baptist University officially opened the 2026-27 academic year and welcomed 575 new undergraduate students during Convocation chapel Aug. 26 at the Recreation and Wellness Center on the OBU campus in Shawnee.

The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) will begin accepting nominations for its annual awards program on September 1. The recipients will be honored at the OHS Awards Banquet, which will be held on Friday, April 30, 2027, at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.
