Read moreSeminole Police Chief Jon Withers issued a press release on Wednesday afternoon concerning an incident involving one of his officers. The release states: “On 6/21/2023 at approximately 04:12am the Seminole Police Department was dispatched to 1909 N. Milt Phillips Ave. (Casey’s) in reference to an accident without injuries. When officers arrived and began to investigate the accident, it was discovered that an off-duty officer (David Young) was allegedly involved in the incident while operating his personal vehicle. Officers noticed several empty beer cans and bottles throughout the vehicle, as well as indicators that the off-duty officer appeared to be intoxicated. At the conclusion of the investigation, the off-duty officer was placed under arrest for Driving under the Influence and Transporting an Open Container. He was later transported to the Seminole County Jail.
