He learned the value of a hard day’s work in depression-era Oklahoma. He learned a trade at a vocational school just so he could serve his country in WWII. He has learned that life has its losses and gains. And last week, he learned what it’s like to be a century old.

Isn’t it interesting that we divide times for historical records with BC and AD (before Christ and after his death), yet some people believe his brief 33 years on earth was insignificant or even a myth? That drop in the bucket of time has been used to divide time on earth for over 2,000 years!!!

As hard as parents may try to govern their childrens’ internet usage, kids’ curiosity often compels them to go online when parents aren’t keeping watch. Parental controls are a great way to protect youngsters while they’re online.

A door closing, a sweet note you found in a book, your voice on the answering machine, a final text to cherish forever, a picture of you with your lovely smile... all-insignificant until they became sweet memories set down in time. These are the moments of a final goodbye we never forget.

DEAR ABBY: My wife and I have dear friends, one of whom has been diagnosed with untreatable cancer. The doctors told him to go home and maximize his quality of life. The first step he took was to completely cut us out. We had been friends for years.
