Virtual Home Inspections Offered After Oklahoma Winter Storm

FEMA is leveraging technology to deliver the agency’s programs at the highest level possible, while preserving our workforce and survivors. FEMA will conduct virtual home inspections for Oklahoma survivors, in designated counties, who sustained damage after the winter storms that began Feb. 8.

Jail Tax Proposal Subject of Forum

The Seminole Chamber of Commerce monthly Forum, to be held Thursday, March 11, 2021, will feature presentations on the proposed ¼ cent sales tax to support the Seminole County Jail. The tax will be voted on during an April 6, 2021 county-wide election.

A local man was arrested after authorities found more than $212,000 in stolen items on his property in rural Seminole County. Kyle Gouker was arrested last week and booked into the Seminole County Jail on complaints of knowingly concealing stolen property.

Seminole Nation Museum Awarded Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant

The Oklahoma Historical Society has announced that the Seminole Nation Museum has been awarded a grant through the Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program. “I congratulate the Seminole Nation Museum on its grant from the Oklahoma Historical Society,” said Rep. Danny Williams, Seminole.

Seminole Co. Republican Convention Next Saturday

The 2021 Seminole County Republican Convention will convene at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13th in the cafeteria of the Student Union at Seminole State College. Precinct meetings will be held first, followed by the convention.

Seminole State College Hires Bray as Nursing Program Director

Seminole State College recently named Crystal Bray as its Nursing Program Director. Bray served as a full-time nursing instructor for the College from 2010-2019. In 2019, she purchased Country Rose, a home decor, jewelry and clothing boutique in Seminole.
